Alexandra Grant lives and works between Los Angeles and Berlin. Grant examines language and written texts through painting, drawing, sculpture, video, and other media. Her work has been exhibited at the Contemporary Museum, Baltimore, MD; Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles (MOCA), the Pasadena Museum of California Art, among others, and in a solo exhibition at the Orange County Museum of Art, Telepathy Is One Step Further Than Empathy, curated by Cassandra Coblentz. Awards include the COLA Individual Artist Fellowship and The Pollock-Krasner Foundation. Alexandra is the creator of the grantLOVE project, which has raised funds for arts-based non-profits, including Heart of Los Angeles (HOLA); Project Angel Food; Art of Elysium; 18th Street Arts Center, and LAXART. In 2017, Grant cofounded X Artists’ Books, a publishing house for artist-centered books.

Alexandra Grant’s paintings invite us into a ceremonial space where art becomes a vessel for intention, reflection, and transformation. Rooted in the power of language and symbolism, her works act as ritual sites—imbued with energy, meaning, and a call to presence. In this exhibition, ceremony is explored not as a distant or esoteric act, but as an everyday practice, where the canvas serves as sacred ground for contemplation and renewal. Through layered text, vibrant color, and meditative composition, Grant’s work encourages the viewer to engage in a dialogue with the self, using art as a mirror for inner inquiry. By treating the creative process as an offering, her paintings transform into portals for healing—spaces where intention becomes form, and where reflection deepens into practice.

Cavalcade: Group Show

When a cavalcade of delight permeates your soul, it can either overwhelm or invigorate—what path will you choose? When Shakti and awareness merge, the beauty of abstraction propels our essence into realms of awe and wonder. Embrace curiosity for such gestures and movement of brush and color.  Viewing becomes a ritual—a practice that nurtures soul maturation. Are you ready to truly know your inner self? Color and personal inner movement are one of life’s exquisite beauties.  Cavalcade is an invitation to move and express: by incorporating performance art, activation, and intention, this exhibition will stretch the viewer's experience into that of a ceremony.

Featuring Mark Horowitz, Larry Bell, Thomas Downing, Bernard Piffaretti, Emma Soucek, Jean Nagai, Paige Beeber, and Iva Gueorguieva, Cavalcade brings together artists who push the boundaries of abstraction, materiality, and movement. Bell’s explorations of light and space, Downing’s rhythmic color fields, and Gueorguieva’s gestural dynamism create a rich interplay of form and energy. Horowitz infuses humor and unpredictability, while Piffaretti, Soucek, and Beeber each contribute distinct perspectives on structure, fluidity, and motion.

More than an exhibition, Cavalcade is a ceremonial experience— activating the senses through immersive art, performance, and interaction. Will you simply observe, or step into the flow?
